Today I will discuss with you an important topic that is how to overcome addiction through the Word of God. We all know that life comes with many challenges, and addiction is one of them. Maybe you yourself are struggling with this problem, or someone you love is struggling with it. Don’t worry, today I will share the Word of God here that will give you strength to overcome this addiction.
Friends, I want to tell you that you are not alone in this fight. God is always by your side. He loves you and wants to free you from this bondage. Remember, God’s love is so strong that it can break the chains of any addiction. But for that you first have to come forward and take the step.
When you feel like you can’t take it anymore, pray to God. Say, “Lord, I am weak, give me strength.” You will see, He will help you. Because He said, when we are weak, He makes us strong.
I know, sometimes it seems that temptation is very strong. But remember, through Jesus Christ we can do anything. By His power
we can overcome any weakness we have.
I had a friend who suffered from alcoholism. Every day he would say, “I won’t drink again today.” But in the evening he would drink again. One day he prayed and cried. And from that day on his life changed. He realized that God’s power is much greater than his own.
You know, the Bible says that if we draw close to God, He will draw close to us. This is very important. When we struggle with addiction, we need to draw close to God. Read His Word, pray, spend time with other believers.
Remember one more thing. Don’t be ashamed. We are all sinners, we all make mistakes. But God forgives us and gives us a chance to start over. So talk openly to others about your problems. Pray for each other. It is very empowering.
Before I end, let me tell you a story. There was a boy who was addicted to internet pornography. He was very shy and could not talk to anyone. One day he came to church and told the pastor everything. The pastor told him, “My son, you are not alone. We will pray for you.” From that day on, the boy’s life changed. He understood that God’s love is much bigger than his shame and weakness.
So friends, don’t give up hope. God has prepared a beautiful future for you. He wants you to be free, to be happy. Whenever difficult times come, remember that you are not alone. God is with you. God bless you.
